Saint Blaize Compliance

Saint Blaize is committed to integrity and corporate governance excellence, aligning our integrity controls with international standards. We have appointed governance and compliance experts from leading law firm, ENS, to develop an anti-corruption compliance programme that is aligned to ISO 37001, the International Standard for Anti-bribery Management Systems. This will not only ensure compliance to local South African anti-bribery requirements but will also adhere to global best practice and international standards.

The Saint Blaize compliance programme adheres to the following globally accepted principles for “Adequate Procedures” to prevent bribery and corruption:

Principles

Principle 1:

Proportionate procedures

Our anti-bribery procedures are tailored to the specific risks inherent in our project activities, considering their nature, scale, and complexity. This includes maintaining a robust policy and procedures that promote compliance among employees, business partners, agents, and intermediaries.

Principle 2:

Top-level commitment

Our leadership team is committed to preventing bribery and the ethical tone is set from the top.

Principle 3:

Risk assessment

ENS will conduct a risk assessment addressing the nature and extent of the risks relating to bribery and corruption to which our project is exposed. The risk assessment will help to identify, address, and mitigate Saint Blaize’s exposure to internal and external corruption risks.

Principle 4:

Due diligence

Our anti-bribery procedures are tailored to the specific risks inherent in our project activities, considering their nature, scale, and complexity. This includes maintaining a robust policy and procedures that promote compliance among employees, business partners, agents, and intermediaries.

Principle 5:

Communication

Saint Blaize is embedding clear bribery prevention policies across our organisation, ensuring understanding and compliance. Management actively communicates anti-corruption policies and standards to employees, agents, and partners. The communication includes periodic training and certifications. A confidential system is in place for reporting concerns, improving procedures, and seeking advice on anti-bribery measures.

Principle 6:

Monitoring and review

Saint Blaize is instituting monitoring and review mechanisms to ensure compliance with anti-bribery and corruption policies and procedures, to identify any issues as they arise, and to make improvements where necessary.
